We’ll show every land neighbour of one country. Your job is to name the country they all border.
You’ll play 8 rounds. Correct answers can earn up to 100 points each.
This can be harder than it looks. Getting stumped is part of the game—and you’ll start recognising border patterns as you play.
Every country you solve is added to your personal atlas.
Scoring: Each round begins at 100 points. Every wrong guess and the capital hint cost 25 points, while the map hint costs 50. Hint costs stack. The capital hint unlocks after your first wrong guess. For example, one wrong guess followed by a correct answer earns 75 points; one wrong guess plus the capital hint earns 50. After four wrong guesses, the answer is revealed for no points. Points already scored are never deducted, and the streak does not multiply the award.
Eight-round games: Questions begin easy and move towards harder countries after confident answers. The five world regions are balanced across a game, with no region appearing twice in a row and no more than two rounds from any one region. If a region causes trouble, the game gives it a short rest. Difficulty is estimated from country prominence, map size, and how informative its neighbour list is. Some games include a surprise no-neighbour bonus; its points are kept separate from the main score.
Your atlas: Countries you answer correctly are saved only in this browser and highlighted on your collection map. Confident answers appear darker than assisted answers. Clearing this site’s browser storage also clears the atlas.
Country facts: A short fact appears after every answer. Most are hand-written geographic stories; the rest highlight an interesting relationship in the game’s border data.
The game uses the listed land borders for the conventional 195-country set. Countries without a land border cannot appear as ordinary answers, but may appear in a no-neighbour bonus. If two countries have exactly the same neighbours, either answer is accepted and the ambiguity is explained. Overseas territories and disputed borders can be classified differently by different sources.
